Who Are We?

STEVE & KAY MORGAN-GURR are a husband and wife team. They are full-time, self-employed Children’s Evangelists and General Directors of the growing Children Worldwide network, they believe children’s work to be at the cutting edge of evangelism.

Their main objectives are:

TO SHARE THE UNCHANGED GOSPEL WITH TODAY’S CHILDREN (up to 12 years) in a way that they find relevant and can understand and respond to. The aim is to be both Biblical and contemporary whilst challenging, training and nurturing children in an enjoyable and safe programme.

TO HELP OTHERS WHO WORK WITH CHILDREN by helping to train them in various aspects of kid’s work. Seminar subjects include: Story telling, Kids in worship, Puppetry, Music, Discipline, The Children Act and Best Practice, Creative prayer, and Special Needs. They also support and mentor other full time children’s workers.

TO MAKE RESOURCES AVAILABLE TO CHILDREN AND THEIR TEACHERS. This includes writing and recording songs, writing booklets and training materials, and consultancy in any area of children’s work including special needs and safeguarding.

KAY was a ’special needs’ children’s nurse until God called her into children’s work about 18 years ago. After a couple of years with Scripture Union, she joined Children Worldwide. Kay loves telling Bible stories in a way that brings them alive to children, and is often assisted by Albert, her ‘real puppet’ chimpanzee. Although an accomplished singer and flautist, these days you are more likely to hear her talking about safeguarding children! She relaxes by knitting, crocheting and reading.

STEVE, a ‘preacher’s kid’, has been involved with churches in different parts of the country from an early age. Settling in Leicester, he worked in administration for many years, and then with Relate, joining Children Worldwide in 1996. Specialising in songwriting and puppets, he believes that children deserve the best. He and Kay have already recorded 3 CDs and their songs are being used increasingly widely. Steve’s hobbies are twanging stringed instruments and riding his motorbike.

A typical children’s programme might include any combination of stories, puppets, music, creative prayer, drama, memory verses, quizzes, craft, balloons, clowning, challenges, discussion groups, juggling etc, – all to help reinforce what is being taught. We are not ‘children’s entertainers’ but we do believe that eternally important truths are more easily learned and remembered if the learning is fun and involves more than just listening.

Family praise parties are equally varied and include something for everyone to learn from and enjoy as they praise God together.

All age services are exactly that – all age friendly with a message that all can understand. Each service tailored to suit what the church needs. Steve and Kay  are there to serve, not to dictate!

Adult training sessions are tailored to suit requirements, depending on your starting point and what you want to achieve.
